World Information: This is a canon character. But here is a convenient link about the game world.
Character Information: This is a general overview of the Ancient race.

Canon has not officially said Themis and Elidibus are the same person but the wiki says they are so I am linking it. There are many indicators to suggest this is where it's leading, but I will be abstaining until it's confirmed one way or another.

The events of Pandaemonium (thus far, it is a raid in progress) are outlined here in more detail.

Themis hails from many thousands of years in past of the world FFXIV takes place on (over 10,000 years), before it was Sundered. Like all Ancients thus far met, he hails from Amaurot, a gleaming capital city. He is a young man, perhaps the equivalent of 18-20 years of age though their species live for undetermined periods of time and he may actually be far older. He claims to be part of an organization who works with the Convocation of Fourteen and is investigating problems which are occurring within a secure facility for research on highly dangerous creations, Pandaemonium.

Thanks to a 'good friend' (heavily implied to be the Convocation seat holder of Azem), Themis arrived in Elpis to investigate Pandemonium and await the arrival of a 'falling star' (the Warrior of Light who travelled back in time again to find out information about Pandemonium, a name that came up in the present day of the game). Together they entered the containment facility and Themis was immediately aware the wards that served as a final line of defense were indeed under a subtle but constant attack. He immediately acted to reinforce and stall the attack, asking the Warrior of Light to act on the offense should the need arise while they searched for the warders. Though Themis could assist by creating warriors to fight with the Champion, he couldn't risk losing focus because of battling himself.

After approaching the first circle of the facility, Asphodelos, they encountered a lone warder, Erichthonios. He seemed to be in a state of confusion, panic, and fear but was determined to protect his fellow warders against intruders. Once he was subdued and calmed, they joined forces to focus on recovering and returning the escaped creatures to cells in the first circle. Though they have found no other warders and signs point to their capture at the hand of the mastermind, Themis and the others were forced to pause. A seal barred their way to the next Circle (Abyssos) but before that could be focused on, he felt it wise to make sure all the remaining creations were returned to their cells in Asphodelos and decide whether to get in contact with the Convocation to obtain Lahabrea's aid. He asked the adventurer to report to whomever sent them and sent a message off to his friend.

Before he received a response, Erichthonios and Themis were presented the question. With the anomalies on the rise and no contact to the outside, both acted swiftly on the basis that it was likely to have come from Abyssos. Themis and Erichthonios judged the risk (whether it was a trap or a call for help) worth the chance to rescue some of the warders and answered yes, being drawn into the digital world.

Personality: Themis is young by his people's standards. But he is also known for being exceptional in rational thinking and being an impartial judge; the white robes he's wearing is a symbol of recognition by his people. It goes without saying it's an amazing achievement for one so young. While at times he must act quickly because action is required, Themis is never quick to judge. He will conduct a thorough investigation and gather all possible information before reaching a conclusion.

Themis comes from a society where greed, intense envy and hardship are virtually unheard of. There isn't war or poverty. Even a person with 'poor ability' to manipulate aether can still use creation magic to provide food and clothing and shelter and if they can't, then a neighbor will. Until recently he hadn't really experienced anything particularly troubling between individuals of his race. Themis doesn't have rose-colored glasses by the norms of his society, but the standards of it are dramatically different than many others and he would be likely to come across as extremely idealistic or possibly naive. This would be a mistake, as he absolutely would make hard choices if the situation really warranted it.

This society has shaped him into a person who would see conflict as a last result and has no problem sharing what (nerfed) power he has for the betterment of a greater good. He really believes the values of his society. What reason is there to be dissatisfied with it on a wider scope? Themis understands there are times when resolving conflicts peacefully isn't the solution; otherwise there wouldn't be need for impartial judges and advisors like himself. But situations where physical combat are needed have in his experience or research only applied to dangerous creations. Virtually never amongst their people. Defending oneself or subduing an attacker is something he wouldn't hesitate to do if the situation calls for it but murder is never something he would pursue. Subdue and contain, yes. But not outright turn to killing.

If (or maybe it should be when) Themis is confronted by envy, greed, violence or other vices not common in his utopian society, he might observe it and judge what to do rationally, but if faced with other peoples' casual acceptance of it as commonplace, he will privately be appalled by this attitude and it may even impact his ability to interact with others than his own kind as 'people'. It's not as if he wouldn't try to understand why they'd turn to such vices or attempt reasoned debate why it shouldn't be pursued (Amaurotines do love their debating sometimes). But it would be sympathy for a plight he feels he'll never personally experience.

Hardship is also something he's unfamiliar with, though he would probably adapt to this as an interesting challenge. Certainly far better than intense vices that are often found in other societies. Of course, 'hardship' has a different meaning to the Amaurot native. Themis is no exception. Preparing and cooking food, cleaning, building a shelter or other crafts. These are seen as optional by many if not most and there will be a large number of tasks he'll have to learn that most people accept as common sense. It's not like he wouldn't have the sense to make a pot of tea or pluck fruit from a tree, but his attitude toward learning the 'quaint way of performing a task by hand' is certain to rub some people the wrong way, no matter how earnest he is to learn it.

Themis also believes in the role of he and his people as stewards of their star, each one doing their own part to make the world a better place to live in. To him, even the smallest child or weakest adult are still worthwhile people. Just because they can't do the things he can do doesn't mean they can't do anything at all.

But this society is also one where presumably everything 'not them' is literally created by them; including intelligent life. And that it is their right as the planet's stewards to choose whether these creations are suitable for their beloved star or should be returned to the aether which created them. However kindly treated or well loved these creations may be, this is the normal for their race. It is not murder. Themis might understand that others pulled from other stars and those native to the Digital World(s) are 'people' in their own right, where the rules are vastly different from what he knows. He knows that the values of simply 'returning someone to aether' is not his 'right' or 'privilege' here. They are not his charge. But it's still an alien concept to him, however fascinating. Whatever his willingness to learn more about these 'other people from other stars' might be, there is often going to be a very notable difference in how he speaks to one of his own kind like Erichthonios and those from other worlds. This may change as he adjusts and learns more about other people as... well, people.

A downside of this is that Themis currently doesn't have a grasp on how his society would seem alarming in some ways to others. He might learn over time and will definitely listen to anyone voicing their thoughts on the subject. But he's never experienced anything unlike it. And... well, having a lifespan that is usually only limited by personal choice on when to pass on brings a certain lack of rush to the table. Other than politely refraining from speaking about topics that might cause distress in others if an open discussion seems to cause more harm than good, he wouldn't be quick to rethink anything about his world's paradise as particularly wrong. After all, Themis is a man who believes in carefully thinking things through. The values of another's society may not be good for another's and that would work both ways. But they may also be good to learn from as well.

Out of youthful vibrance or simply for a love of his world and people, Themis is very enthusiastic about learning about the wider world. Tales from a close friend of their travels leaves him eager to experience it for himself. Despite the very serious dangers involved with the investigation of Pandaemonium, there are numerous signs that he's enjoying this adventure thoroughly. Someone even remarks on how he seems to be always grinning despite the circumstances.

So while he may be a rational and reasoned thinker, he still has personal feelings. Rational thought, for example, will tell him that there's still much he can contribute even with his powers diminished and this is quite true. But personally he'll worry about the limits placed on him. Not in the sense he'll blame his Digimon Partner or those that are calling for help for their world. Far from that. But it doesn't mean he won't be free of the worry of what he can do for people and he will find it a struggle to adapt to these limiters. He will hide it; after all Themis doesn't want others to worry about him or believe he believes they're to blame. He'll push himself to do as much as he can if given that chance to compensate for the lack.

In the beginning he will not really have a handle on his new limitations. This should not mean he's to be taken for a fool. Themis has a great deal of personal power and having that drop in relation to his Digimon Partner's evolution will be an extremely dramatic change. He can and probably will overextend himself while learning the limits. This will be a humbling lesson.

While he may seem (and in part is) happy and excited to be here, Themis isn't without concerns for what's happening back home and in the halls of Pandaemonium. At the time he'd been holding together the wards that were in place to prevent very dangerous creations from breaking out and loosing havoc on the world, much less whatever mastermind was behind the events taking place there. Even if he had every reason to believe his friend would become quickly aware of the circumstances and would probably act swiftly, there's still a real danger that the action will be too late. Uncertainty will often come to him, wondering if he made the right call in agreeing to answer 'yes' to the question with Erichthonios, if he had properly considered the choice from every angle or if he had just been eager to dive further into this 'adventure' he was having.

While he still holds the values of his society, Themis has been left to confront some of the darker elements running underneath the fabric of this reality. The secrets that are slowly being revealed in Pandemonium are troubling to say the least. Hesperos's madness and whether it had been long in the making or recently impressed on him because of the process that fused him with a creation sealed within the facility. Who was the mastermind? And could Lahabrea as the chief keyward really be completely unaware of what's happening here? Just because he's waiting to find more evidence of what has truly happened, it doesn't mean he hasn't dwelled on the possibilities. Especially since it's best to have plans of action if or when they might turn out to be the truth. Themis is a believer in the Convocation of Fourteen as a council of learned and respected individuals dedicated to the betterment of their star and the chance that Lahabrea has some part in this scheme flies boldly in the face of that core belief. Yet the 'what if' must be considered and it does cause him some internal strife. Hesperos's apparent madness was alarming enough (that any of their people would consider going to such lengths is virtually unheard of). Needless to say Themis fights with the instinct to deny a member of the Convocation could have any knowing part of this.

Themis is fond of those who are considered friends and family. He's been blessed with many good friends and there's every sign that this fondness is returned. One in particular is covering his work while sending him off on his very own adventure. While they've only just met, Themis is definitely willing to welcome Erichthonios among his friends if the other agrees to it. It doesn't matter to him that their 'scale' or ability is (usually) a wide gap. He appreciates the other young man's dedication to his job and concern for the well-being of his fellow warders. He holds no reproach to Erichthonios for how poorly he regards his own father, the current seat of Lahabrea. For one he doesn't know the whole story and another, the only reason it would become his business is if it turns out to be relevant to the investigation.

Abilities: A very basic overview of abilities.
Themis is gifted with strong abilities even among his race. Like all his kind he has creation magic, which is the ability to make anything, living or not, provided he has enough energy and a solid concept of it. It is remarked he has a very potent amount of personal energy (aether) and he seems very well versed in sorcery and likely combat; Themis remarks that he can't help with combat because he has to keep his focus on maintaining the wards and systems of Asphodelos (the First Circle of Pandaemonium). Yet he is still able to do this and wield enough creation magic to easily create seven 'illusionary constructs' of the Warrior of Light's allies, which are able to fight on the same level as the main character.

It is also made obvious that he is a quick learner by how he watches Erichthonios seal one or two creatures in their cells and is then able to counter their foe, a master of these binding arts, attempting to seal the group away. Most Amaurotine ancients seem to have the ability to transform themselves into a powerful avatar. Though Themis hasn't been seen doing this yet, it is likely he's able to.

Themis, like all his kind, is basically immortal (can be killed but generally die only when they're ready to die) and his natural size is that of three or four times the height of an average human.

Naturally all the power side of this is nerfed by the Digital World and his connection with his partner but he will probably be able to adjust to the limitations pretty quickly.

Items: Other than his robes and mask, Themis brought nothing with him to the digital world.

Digimon:

Digimon Partner:
Baby I: Puffmon
Baby II: Kyaromon
Child: Elecmon (if cosmetic variations are still available, this Elecmon will have a lighter blue hue stripe than standard)
Adult: Moosemon (if I've gotten this evolution chain wrong or didn't need to go this far, please let me know!)

Personality:

Elecmon is a cheerful and optimistic soul, often looking for a silver lining in even disappointing circumstances. She definitely sees a lot of potential in her Partner's very tall height even if she's a little disappointed that he doesn't seem quick to enable her pranks. Not that she'll always be disappointed here but Themis does like to make sure the prank isn't badly time, acting as a good balance to what was once a constant string of mischief. Harmless honestly, but still sometimes troubling for the victims.

This will give her a better sense of when it's better to be a bit serious. Not that she was completely inept at this before, it's just a bit better with a Partner like Themis to balance her out. Much of that restraint will be going to fuel her curiosity (mostly) and an honest willingness to be helpful (some). The curiosity will be getting her into a few sticky spots and probably by extension pulling her Partner and any nearby er... companions into the mix.

In the beginning she'll definitely have a sense of bravery and a little lack of care where her nose leads her, given the giant stature of her partner; there's a lot that would be nullified or intimidated by his size alone. Once Themis becomes harmed because of this overconfidence, that will definitely change; she does care about him and is excited to have a partner. She (and honestly he) aren't aware of their limits so this will probably lead to a very real risk.

Elecmon has a bit of a boastful nature and even if it's not overbearing, it can definitely lead to her bragging about her accomplishments, her partner (and how tall he is) and even cheerfully volunteering others in a 'hey I know this guy, he's taller than some watch towers, I'm sure he'll help!' type of way. She isn't the type to really lie about a boast but Elecmon can sometimes get carried away with her tales and stories when she gets going and might forget to let someone else talk unless she's interrupted.

Questionnaire:

  • How do you feel about being brought to another world?
I haven't been here long enough to say. But I won't deny that it's very exciting. When I came to investigate Pandaemonium I expected a small adventure. But I wouldn't have imagined a chance like this. I look forward to learning about this new world, the other Tamers and Digimon while I'm here.

  • What are you going to miss most about the world you call home?
Everything. I love my star and my friends, my family. But I have faith in the people there. Until our return, I'm sure everyone will work to help resolve the troubles that might arise from our absence.

  • Can you tell us anything about the world you came from?
My star is called Etheirys. My kind act as caretakers of our world, using our creation magic to tend and better it. Our society is peaceful and we value the whole community. Everyone's opinions are valid and no one is more deserving than others. Of course we do have people who have taken the role of making decisions for important matters that would affect the world and our society as a whole. The Convocation of Fourteen are respected members of our society who have been recognized for their expertise in each of their respective fields.

There is much more I can speak of, but I wouldn't want to trouble you for too long. Perhaps we can speak again when there's more time, if you're interested.

  • What do you think about the idea of having a Digimon partner?
Elecmon is charming. I've never seen beings like Digimon before and look forward to learning more about them. Though I was drawn to the Digital World with a companion, it's comforting to know we both have a constant partner if Erichthonios and I are ever separated for a time.

  • A dangerous Digimon is after you! What do you do?!
I would attempt to seal its movements before trying to find out the reason it's after me. I wouldn't blame it for its nature, of course. If it considers me a meal, then I would attempt to send it to a place it won't trouble me or others. If I had done something to anger it, I would try to find a resolution. But what I would do after stopping its chase depends on why it was after me in the first place.
